Rahmat a.k.a Mato (28) hails from Pangkep Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. He is a social activist  and founder of Pangkep Initiative, a social organization which aims to enhance the quality of life for local youth in his regency through a wide range of comprehensive program and activities according to youth needs and interests. He is also a marketing enthusiast and currently work for MarkPlus.Inc, one of the leading marketing consulting companies in Indonesia.

Prior to his professional life, he has been actively involved in voluntary service since he was in university together with Indonesia International Work Camp (IIWC), the first international voluntary service organization in Indonesia. During his service with the organization, he has developed his leadership skill by taking a lead of some voluntary projects with other local and international volunteers, both in Indonesia and abroad. Some of them are World Heritage Patrimonito in Prambanan and Borobudur, Bilateral Work Camp with NICE Japan in Semarang, International Work Camp in The Netherland, World Tanabata Action in France, and Special Networking International Workcamps for Revival from the Disasters (SNIWRD) in Japan. In 2011, he became the Vice President of Asian Youth Forum and successfully held the Asian Youth Forum 10 in Vladivostok, Russia (2012) in cooperation with Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), the Pan-Asian Consortium of Language Teaching Associations (PAC), and the Far Eastern English Language Teachers Association of Russia (FEELTA).

He also works as a workshop or training facilitator, especially for youth programs. He began his career by facilitating an international conference in 2010 when he was selected as one of international project facilitators in University Scholar Leadership Symposium (USLS) held by Humanitarian Affair of United Kingdom in Melacca, Malaysia, attended by 300 international students from all over the world. Since then, he has been involved in many training and workshop projects.

He graduated from Islamic University of Indonesia with a Bachelor of Accounting in International Undergraduate Program. Having obtained his degree in 2010, he received his Master of Business Administration from Gadjah Mada University in 2012. During his time at the university, he had taken part in many international students conference and program, including ASEF University Summer School in University of Tartu, Estonia, held by Asia Europe Foundation.

He is very keen to work with youth, non-profit organization, and private sector. His area of interest and specialties are youth leadership, communication & public speaking, project cycle management, social media, marketing, intercultural learning, and workshop facilitation.
